About

Kia ora | Hello,

My name is Karolina Gorton. I’m an illustrator and storyteller, who loves to capture the essence of subjects in strong lines, bold colours, and interactive performances. I have an MA in European Culture and Social Studies, with majors in Visual Culture and Communication between Cultures. I love collaborating and bringing people together, their stories, skills, and experiences, to create different projects. I am passionate about social justice, equality and women’s rights. I am a good listener and creative thinker. I feel comfortable working remotely and I can travel for various projects.

I love thoughtful designs, quirky and bright illustrations. It makes me happy. I treat each of my projects individually and always try to find special points of difference that make my projects unique. I like experimenting and have a hands-on approach, but also the concept development part of my projects is very important to me.

I like to keep an efficient dialogue with my clients. I am happy when I can help them present their ideas, concepts, and projects effectively to their audiences by listening and responding to their needs, and by creating smart, distinctive, and beautiful visuals. I’m capable of bringing other people on board to accelerate our visions and work best for the project.

MY VALUES:

PASSION – Live to create

EQUALITY – Respect everyone

INTEGRITY – Communicate openly and honestly

EMPATHY – Be kind

HUMOUR – Laughter makes the world a better place.

I live with my partner, our two children, and our dog in sunny Whakatū Nelson in beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand. We try to keep our lives simple but meaningful. I love the surrounding nature, contemporary arts, and physical theatre. Oh, and I start my day with black coffee.

Fancy working together? Let’s connect now.
